The Accounting Lines show Base and Current Budgets. What do they represent?

  • Base Budget is the budget entered in Kuali Budget Construction, which then represents your starting budget for the fiscal year. Current Budget is the base budget with changes that happened within the fiscal year, or any new budget that was created after the start of the fiscal year.

Why are Base and Current Budgets listed?

  • They are there for comparison, so that you can see where you started in the fiscal year and see if you have made changes since then.

Why does the Current Budget change as I enter an Increase or Decrease?

  • When your budget change is final, the current budget will be changed. The screen shows what the result should be when you finish your change.

Is what is displayed for Base and Current Budget always accurate?

  • It may not always be accurate since it is a simple internal calculation that may not add all of your cumulative adjustments correctly. You can cancel and start over if you wish to restart the calculator.
